FILM POSTER

This is my final poster for Charlotte, designed on Photoshop. I had many difficulties as I didn't know Photoshop well as a creative tool. With some guidance, I managed to use the relevant tools and fonts offered to create a gripping poster.

I took on this task using the visual tool Canva.

  1. ANNABELLE COMES HOME: Clear analysis of the poster's focus on visual codes such as colour to create horror tropes and the ways in which it does not conform to genre through its lack of tagline, billing block and so forth. Thoughtful explanation of the significance of the central image and the use of mystery but you could say more about both how the lighting emphasises the grotesque quality and also the ensemble of figures behind the doll.

  2. GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY: An excellent analysis of this exuberant action / scifi / superhero franchise poster: your personal engagement shows clearly how audiences are attracted and addressed by the exuberance and dynamism of the central images, framing and colours. Clear understanding of this poster's place in the MU franchise.

  3. TO ALL THE BOYS I'VE LOVED BEFORE: Perceptive analysis of graphical details such as font choices, notebook paper background, handwriting and colour. You draw attention to the apparent simplicity of the child-like quality which is belied by the narrative details in the heart image.

  4. POSTER You have conducted ample poster genre research and you provide evidence of drafting.
Poster Your poster for ‘Charlotte’ signals the ghost / horror genre through the darkness of the colour palette and the outline of the Mansion and ghostly figure of Charlotte. The scenery looks suitably turbulent and the eye is drawn to the small central figure, which the audience can clearly assume to be the Charlotte of the title, as the tagline tells us that ‘She’ll be waiting’. The poster observes all genre conventions (title, tagline, star talent, release date, billing block, social media) and is finished to a satisfactory standard.
